Safety, occupational health and environmental policy

               “Milli” Economic Society recognizes that the protection of life, health, safety and the environment is a fundamental business value and an integral part of all activities.

In accordance with ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, the Labor Code of Turkmenistan, applicable environmental legislation and the requirements of the Main State Service Turkmenstandartlary, the Company is committed to preventing work-related injuries, ill health, environmental pollution and operational incidents.

We commit to:

  • Provide safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health;
  • Eliminate hazards and reduce occupational health, safety and environmental risks through systematic hazard identification, risk assessment and implementation of controls;
  • Fulfil all applicable legal, regulatory, contractual and other requirements relating to occupational health, safety and environmental protection;
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan, particularly provisions related to occupational safety, employee information, training, PPE and incident prevention;
  • Maintain an effective Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management System and continually improve its performance;
  • Ensure active consultation, participation and involvement of workers in matters affecting occupational health and safety;
  • Provide appropriate training, instruction, supervision and competency development to employees and contractors in accordance with job responsibilities and associated risks;
  • Ensure that only competent personnel perform tasks that may affect safety, health, quality or environmental performance;
  • Maintain preparedness for emergencies and establish effective response arrangements;
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and nonconformities to identify root causes and prevent recurrence;
  • Protect the environment through pollution prevention, efficient use of resources, waste minimization and responsible management of materials;
  • Promote a positive safety culture based on leadership commitment, accountability, communication and continual improvement;
  • Require contractors, suppliers and visitors to comply with applicable safety, health and environmental requirements.

The Company recognizes the principle established by Turkmenstandartlary and the occupational safety legislation of Turkmenistan that preservation of human life and health has priority over production results.

Management shall provide adequate resources, competent personnel, appropriate technologies and effective organizational arrangements necessary to achieve the objectives of this Policy.

This Policy is communicated to all employees, contractors and interested parties, is available upon request, and is reviewed periodically to ensure continuing suitability, adequacy and effectiveness.
